Vinod Palli Founder of AutoTrack Systems

Vinod Palli is the architect of the Autonomous Transportation Intercity System. He designed ATIS end to end — the convoy intelligence platform, the automated securement architecture, the parallel terminal loading system, the integrated solar canopy, and the brand that carries it — and he founded AutoTrack Systems to build it.

His conviction is structural rather than speculative: the United States does not have a technology gap in intercity travel, it has an infrastructure gap. The vehicles are already autonomous-capable. The energy is already free at the point of generation. What is missing is the corridor.

On the problem

Twelve million vehicle trips a year move between Dallas and Houston on one highway, and every one of them burns fuel, costs four hours, and carries risk. We have accepted that as normal because there has never been an alternative that let people keep their own car.

On the solution

ATIS does not ask anyone to change behavior. You still drive. You still have your car, your car seats, your tools, your luggage. You simply stop being the one responsible for the 240 miles in between.

On what comes next

Whoever builds the first autonomous vehicle corridor in North America sets the regulatory precedent, owns the best alignment, and starts the operating-data advantage that every follower has to chase. I intend for that to be built in Texas, and I intend for it to be built well.
